Being in school is not enough: education systems research and the global learning crisis

On 21 January 2015, UKCDS hosted a panel discussion on education systems research for development.

The event was chaired by BBC News' Sean Coughlan and featuring a panel of education research specialists, including Lant Pritchett of Harvard University and the Center for Global Development.

The Centre for Global Development shared its reports on the Research on Improving Systems of Education (RISE) Vision, including papers on:

  1. The Pivot from Schooling to Education
  2. Ambitious Learning Goals Need Audacious New Approaches
  3. Why Research into Education Systems Is Needed

You can see the three papers that they shared at the event by clicking here.

UKCDS has previously hosted an Education Systems Town Hall in 2014 with ESRC, DFID, the World Bank, USAID and UNICEF. See full coverage of that event here.
