Making science work for development

Diagnostics, prosthetics and orthotics to tackle health challenges in developing countries

This call is supported through EPSRC’s Global Challenges Research Fund allocation. The aim of this activity is to support an internationally leading programme of research, centred around innovative healthcare technologies, to tackle the challenges faced by developing countries. Proposals must address one of the following two priority areas to be considered through this call:

  • Low cost, rapid, point of care imaging and diagnostic technologies
  • Affordable prosthetics and orthotics.

The proposed research must be predominantly in EPSRC remit, although interdisciplinary and/or multidisciplinary proposals are welcomed. Proposals must also be compliant with Official Development Assistance (ODA) guidelines.
