UKCDS exploring international funders' approaches to capacity strengthening

15 June 2015

UKCDS is carrying out a survey for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and other UKCDS members on international funders’ approaches to strengthening research capacity in low and middle income countries.

UKCDS previously worked with MRC to prepare a mapping of research capacity strengthening initiatives in health.  The aim of the new review with DFID is to take stock of existing initiatives (beyond health alone) and gain a broad understanding of international funding and donor agencies' different approaches to research capacity strengthening. It is not intended to be comprehensive but to help funders improve their knowledge of each other’s activities and aims in this area.

We have designed a survey with short, tick-box style questions and would greatly appreciate your input if you are from an organisation which funds research capacity strengthening activities.

The survey only takes 5 minutes and can either be completed quickly online by following this link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FCWX98B
