Education Research Funding
Major programmes into education research for international development have been launched, with funders such as DFID and ESRC calling for world-class and cutting-edge policy-relevant research that addresses key questions on education in developing countries.
DFID have partnered with ESRC to deliver a programme on 'Education and development: Raising learning outcomes in education systems'. DFID also have a second programme 'Effective Education Systems' - a large scale, multi-year, multi-disciplinary research programme looking at system wide reform in 3 to 5 countries.
More on these two research programmes can be found in 'Sunny skies ahead for education research', the blog written by DFID's Chief Economist, Stefan Dercon.
